Private School Education & College Education – RI Child Support FAQS

In Rhode Island (RI) Divorce and Child support cases, Can I get the father or mother of my child to be ordered to pay for private school education?
No, unless there is a contractual obligation, a stipulated consent order or there is an ongoing divorce.
Most judges take the position that there are suitable public schools for children to attend. However, If there is something in writing such as a property settlement agreement obligating one parent to pay for the private school education of the child, then the parent may be obligated to pay for the private school education. Also, the parent could be ordered to pay for private school education in a divorce on a temporary basis, especially when it is in the middle of a school year and it would be disruptive for the child to transfer to a public school. Parents can certainly negotiate payment of private school education and the judge of The Family Court will usually approve the settlement in a court Order. That stipulated consent order could be enforced in a Family Court contempt proceeding.
Can I get the father or mother of my child to be ordered to pay for college?
No, Unless there is a written contractual agreement obligating payment of college expenses. Rhode Island child support terminates when a child turns 18 and graduates high school but not longer then the child attaining the age of 19. (Unless the child is severely disabled and then it goes unil the child turns 21)
The Court loses jurisdiction over the child when the child attains the age as set forth above. The Court cannot order payment of college but a Court may enforce a written property settlement agreement between the parties obligating payment of college.
Home School Education – Setting Up a Home School
If you are planning to put your kids in home school, it is important that you learn some basics tips to help you prepare for homeschooling. Of course, it is important that you also can provide the best education and learning to your kid as well even if they are not going to school.
If you are planning to set up a home school education, which is one option for kids these days, here are some tips to help you.
Assess your schedule and your family’s schedule to be able to ensure that you have enough time to teach children. Of course, you have to make a schedule too and make sure that homeschooling has its own time that is set only for homeschooling. Set a desired schedule then but make sure that any household chores and other chores at home do not interfere with the kids’ schooling.
Make your home school legal. If you are home schooling a preschooler, it helps to also avoid disturbance at home especially if their friends are already playing or wanting to play with your homeschooled children.
Arrange off-site requirements for your homeschool. If you see the need to have other classes for your homeschooled child especially when it comes to their interests and passion such as music classes, dancing classes, swimming classes or any other lessons they will be taking, arrange the schedule early so you can also make the schedule fit in to yours as well.
Prepare their subject matters and make sure to check out the proper subject descriptions to ease of accreditation later when our homeschooled kid will eventually go to high school or college.
Of course, aside from these preparations, you will also need some paper works such as preparing professionally made transcripts that are acceptable to colleges and universities if you are having a high school home school. But of course, even with preschool, make sure that you have prepared the forms they will need for their records.

What jobs exist for people without high school education? I can rant off a dozen jobs that fit that bill, but they all pay minimum wage. You’re most likely looking for something decent that doesn’t pay a measly 7$ an hour (who could blame you?) Well if you enjoy (or can tolerate) writing I have a solution for you. It’s referred to as “Ezine publishing”, which is really just writing articles and submitting them to EzineArticles.
It’s a form of internet marketing that just about anyone with an opinion can do. You simply write articles about your favorite interests, hobbies, etc. The more views your articles get, the more money you will ultimately make. In your articles you include a small 2 sentence advertisement relating to your article. For example if you’re writing a guide about changing oil, you can include a link to a company that sells motor oil. If someone makes a purchase through the link you provided, you get paid a percentage of the sale.
The best part about ezine publishing is that, the articles you write will stay on the internet for many years. (Not to mention it doesn’t require any sort of education or training, no degree or diploma.) Whether your sleeping, eating, feeding the dogs, on vacation, or relaxing, your articles will continue to generate traffic and more importantly, sales. It can be used as a secondary source of income, or you can life off ezine publishing. Some publishers make 10,000 per month, some make a lot more, and yet some write a couple articles in there free time jut for a nice 1500 or so per month. Who wouldn’t want to add another source of income?
This is one of the best jobs you’ll find without a high school education. If you’re skeptical, do some research, it’s a very common practice and it’s the most popular form of internet marketing.
